Estació d'Autobusos Barcelona Nord continues to grow and consolidate its role as the city's main bus connection point. In just two years, the number of registered travelers has increased by more than 1 million, reaching the declared 3.2 million. This growth confirms the station's importance as a key connection point to national and international destinations.
To adapt to this new reality and improve the experience for passengers and operators, a new phase of transformation of the station begins this month. The project is based on four strategic axes: offering an excellent user experience, consolidating the station as a departure and arrival point for tourist destinations, dynamisation and intermodality, integration with the environment and sustainability.
The works will reorganise the space, concentrating all the services on a single floor and establishing a main access from Calle Nápoles, thus improving passenger flows and the connection with the metro and Cercanías. These improvements involve an investment of 10 million euros, 4.8 million of which come from European Next Generation funds as part of the Destination Barcelona Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTDB).
During the works, the station will continue to operate, guaranteeing the best possible service for users. With this transformation, Barcelona Nord is preparing for the future, offering greater comfort, better connections and all the services necessary for the passengers who use the station every year.
Actions included in the Destination Sustainability Plan in Barcelona, projects funded by NextGenerationEU funds.
